Sarah’s kids have been back in school for weeks now, and mine are back (or about to start), too. The neighborhood public pool has closed for the season and I am in a pretty severe state of slushie withdrawal. Though celestially-speaking it is summer until September 22nd (a thought I am clinging to with all my life), I cannot deny that all signs point to it being time to officially wrap up our summer book club.
How did your summer reading dreams shape up? I did not read everything I said I wanted to, but I still managed to read a lot! And the best thing about the end of summer reading is that it’s the beginning of FALL READING! We’re not going to monkey around with making a bunch of posts about it, but trust that our TBR piles are ever-growing. You know that you’ll hear about our favorites on the pod, so just stay tuned, OK? In the meantime, we never want to stop hearing about the books and music and movies and ideas that you’re psyched about.
Now, let’s address the elephant in the room: You were promised personal pan pizzas.
Well, while we adore you all, no one really stepped up and turned in a book report. Except for Sarah and I. It’s OK, we get it. Life is too busy for such follies. So, like the self-caring geniuses we occasionally are, we took ourselves out for pizza AND a bottle of wine AND ice cream during the glorious 24 hours that we were in the same city. We encourage all of you to do the same!
Bye bye summer (reading). You’ve been so sweet. Onward!
Your book club is solely responsible for my spouse completing Attachments. It is the only book he has read on the topic of parenthood. You both deserve an extra personal pan pizza for that.
The mint chocolate chip ice cream from lovely’s in so good it makes me lose my mind!!!
