Totally agree. As I said in the episode, I like calling people out on the cages they construct for themselves (OURselves) but I had a hard time believing a primary caregiver would write this??
I really wanted to like that article by Jay Caspian King but he lost me here: "But the impetus for all this isn’t really the fear that our children will fail to reach their full potential if their precious brains aren’t being optimally enriched at all times. Rather, the fear is that we will not have child care for a week or two, our lives will fall apart," ... but like, depending on the age of your child, won't it, kinda, fall apart? You can't really leave young kids home by themselves all day while you work, and even if you work from home, the kind of fantasy of letting them "learn to be bored" is nice and all but the reality is that they just pester you all day long. I mean, did he not live thorugh the pandemic? So big side-eye to that article.
