It’s finally here! Sarah & I just finished recording an episode about this trailer (and some other culture things) that’ll be available next Monday to paid subscribers (please consider becoming one of those!). In the meantime, take two minutes, watch the Nightbitch trailer, and tell us what you think in the comments.

OK, I'll start: I don't want to spoil next week's episode, but TLDR I am slightly nervous about this movie. CAN IT POSSIBLY LIVE UP TO RACHEL'S GORGEOUS BOOK?
So excited about this film! 🥩🐕 First thoughts: agree with all of the above that I’m generally always disappointed by film adaptions of books I love because they can never capture the interiority of the characters in the same way. But I think Amy Adams can do no wrong, and actually I saw the teaser poster before I read the book so I had her face in my head while reading it!
My only concern is that the tone seems a little all over the place, but that might just be the trailer. At the beginning it’s giving kind of a campy “Bad Moms” vibe, and it seems to be pitching it as a comedy? The book is definitely funny but the humor is dark and ironic, not campy like this (might) seem. Some shots in the trailer really seem to capture the gothic, brutal intensity I loved about the book. We shall see!
